Weather Guarantee

Weather Guarantee

Weather Guarantee is an optional rain protection your guests can add when they book with you on RoverPass. Sensible Weather provides it, it costs you nothing, and your team never has to handle it.

The short version

  1. Your guests choose it: They can add it while booking if they want. It is never added automatically.
  2. Sensible Weather pays them: If it rains during their stay, Sensible Weather reimburses your guest directly.
  3. It costs you nothing: Your guest pays for it separately from the stay. It is not part of your reservation revenue and it does not change your payout.
  4. Nothing for your team to do: There are no claims to file and nothing to approve. Sensible Weather tracks the weather and pays the reimbursements.
  5. It's in your checkout: It appears in your RoverPass online checkout, next to Trip Insurance.

What your guests see

When your guests check out, the Travel Protection section shows them the Weather Guarantee price for their stay and exactly what it covers. The price is calculated for each stay, and they see it before deciding. If they add it, it shows as its own line on their receipt, separate from their stay with you.

Idea

1.5 mm

FOR 4+ HOURS

A typical offer pays your guest back for each day with light rain of 1.5 mm or more for 4 or more hours between 8 AM and 8 PM. Think small puddles on the ground. The exact terms and daily amounts are the ones your guest sees at checkout.

When they buy it, your guests agree to Sensible Weather's Terms and Conditions and share their name, email and phone with Sensible Weather, so Sensible Weather can reach them about a reimbursement.

What you see in RoverPass

  • In a reservation's details, a Weather Guarantee section shows the protected dates, for example "Protection from Oct 10 to Oct 13".
  • In pricing, the Weather Guarantee is its own line, separate from the stay.

  • In the reservation history, you'll see "Weather Guarantee Cancelled" and "Weather Guarantee Refunded" if the guarantee is cancelled.

Cancellations and refunds

The Weather Guarantee follows the reservation. If a reservation that has one is cancelled, rejected, or expires before protection starts, the guarantee is cancelled automatically, and your guest gets back everything they paid for it. That is the "Weather Guarantee Refunded" entry you may see in a reservation's history.

Your guests can't cancel the Weather Guarantee on its own and keep the reservation. It only ends when the reservation does.

IdeaAlert

BEFORE PROTECTION STARTS

Reservation cancelled, rejected, or expired: your guest gets the guarantee refunded in full.

Warning

PROTECTION HAS STARTED

The guarantee is active and can no longer be cancelled or refunded.

A Weather Guarantee refund never comes out of your payout

It only returns what your guest paid for the Weather Guarantee. Any refund for the stay itself follows your cancellation policy, exactly as it always has.

Notes

IF YOU

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WEATHER GUARANTEE

Change the dates

It keeps protecting the original dates only. You'll see a note on the modify screen with the protected dates.

Check a guest in early

It keeps protecting the original dates only. You'll see a note on the check-in screen.

Cancel before protection starts

It's cancelled automatically and your guest gets a full refund of the guarantee.

Cancel after protection starts

It can no longer be cancelled, so the guarantee isn't refunded.

When your guests won't see the offer
  • When the stay starts the same day it's booked.
  • On group bookings and day-use reservations.
  • When Sensible Weather decides not to cover a stay, for example when rain is already very likely in the forecast.
  • If you've asked us to turn it off.

If you'd rather not offer it

  1. Contact RoverPass Support and we'll remove the Weather Guarantee from your checkout. Guests who already bought one keep it for their stay.
