Overview

 You can now connect a generic barcode scanner to your computer and use it in the General Store to speed up sales. When you scan a product’s barcode, it will automatically be added to the cart.

⚠️ Important: Only generic barcode scanners are supported. Scanners that require proprietary software or are tied to a specific vendor will not work.

Step 1: Add a Barcode to Your Products

1. Go to your General Store and create a new product or edit an existing one
2. Enter the product's barcode number in the barcode field (If empty, the SKU will be used instead). 

   
3. Click Save

💡 If a product doesn't have a barcode (e.g., firewood), you can generate one for free using apps like Barcode Generator or QR & Barcode Scanner. Just create a barcode, note the number, and enter it in the barcode field.

Step 2: Scan to Sell

Once your products have barcodes set up:

1. Connect your generic barcode scanner to your computer
2. Open the General Store in your Owner Portal
3. Scan the product's barcode — it will be added to the cart automatically
4. To add multiple quantities, either scan the item again or manually adjust the quantity in the cart
   

Notes

• Only generic barcode scanners are supported — devices tied to proprietary software will not work
