How to Reopen a Canceled Reservation
Plans change. If a reservation was canceled, rejected, or expired and the guest still wants to stay, you can bring it back without rebuilding it from scratch.
Reopen a reservation
- Open the reservation from your Reservations list.
- Scroll to the Quick Actions section of the reservation page.
- Click Reopen. This button only appears on reservations that are Canceled, Rejected, or Expired.
- Before reopening, the system will ask you to select either No Refund Due or Refund Processed. Be sure to choose one of these options before continuing.
- Confirm when asked, "Are you sure you want to reopen this reservation?"
Important: If the reservation is reopened before selecting No Refund Due or Refund Processed, the system will continue to recognize the original cancellation request. As a result, the required action alert cannot be cleared from your end, even though the reservation has already been reopened.
What happens when you reopen
- The reservation keeps its original dates, site, and guest details. You are restoring the same reservation, not creating a new one.
- The reservation's status returns to Pending, so you can review and approve it the same way you would a new request.
- If the reservation was already fully paid before it was canceled, it returns as Completed instead.
What happens to payments
If a scheduled payment was voided when the reservation was canceled, reopening creates a fresh scheduled payment in its place for the same amount. The voided payment remains in the reservation's payment history for your records, so nothing is hidden or double charged.
Good to know
- After reopening, double-check the reservation's dates and site assignment on your calendar to make sure the site is still available before you approve it.
- If you need to change anything, such as the dates, site, or pricing, reopen the reservation first, then make your changes as you normally would.
